Halloween was so fun this year!! This was the first Halloween that Jeth and I were both in our own place for. It was so fun. We bought some Halloween decorations since we didn't have any. One of which was a skull that will spit out mist. The eyes also change colors. It's really fun!! When we set it up, we turned off all the lights to get the maximum affect. Jordon and I were looking at it from the back and Jeth was looking at it from the front. Jeth came around the table to take a look at it from the back and "accidentally" tripped on the cord. The skull pivoted around and stared at Jordon and I. Jordon screamed and took off to the kitchen. I tried, but there was a wall in the way. Jeth was on the floor laughing as hard as he could. Meanwhile he's asking for forgiveness. Call me crazy, but I don't think he was really sorry.
Halloween night we watched scary movies, of course. We bought a butt load of candy expecting lots of trick-or-treaters. We had them twice. The first one was about 5, 30-year old Mexicans. I was really tempted to slam the door in their face and tell them they should be ashamed of themselves. The second, and last one, was a cute little 4-year old little boy. He was so cute!!! Needless to say, we have lots and lots and lots of candy left over. As a side note, I HATE trunk or treat. No one knocks on the door anymore because they do the trunk or treat. It makes me sad. . . But in the end, Halloween was so much fun.

I'm Not Spoiled. . . My Husband Just Loves Me
So I have been thoroughly . . . um. . . we'll say pampered this weekend. As you can see from previous posts, we have some newly painted walls. In addition to the painted walls there were a few other things that Jeth got for me this weekend.
1) A "Welcome" mat!! I have been wanting one since before we moved down here. We just hadn't found one that we loved. Well, we found it.
2) A mirror!! The bathroom mirror was severly intolerable. If you've read the previous entry, you'll know what Jeth and Jordon went through to get it off so we could paint behind it. The new mirror is tan with little shwupples in it. (Yes shwupples is a word.) It looks like a sandy beach which fits perfectly with our lighthouse theme going on.
3) Since we've been married, Jeth and I have kept our movies and CD's in an old dresser of Jeth's. I've always wanted something that we can have out to put them in. So Jeth said that he would make me something. He took the Lowe's gift certificate that the seller's of our house gave to us and bought everything that he would need for it. Then he kept everything outside in his shed so I wouldn't see it. I was expecting this to take a really really really long time to get finished. But lo and behold I get home from work today and BAM! it's there, in the living room, all set up with the movies on it!! I was so excited!!
So, as I said, this has been a week of pampering, not spoiling. My hubby just loves me lots and lots!! :)

Adding da blue. . .
We added the blue today!! It has been so much fun. Jordon came down and helped us out. The mirror was a nightmare to take off. Jeth and Jordon took it off while I was at work. Whoever put it up, used tar to hold it to the wall. Nice huh? We bought a new mirror. It is really nice. We haven't put everything back up yet because the paint is still tacky, but I'll put up pictures when I can. I also went to town painting pictures. They're nothing great, but I sure had fun. Here are some pictures.

Painting!!
I know I've been a slacker. A couple months ago, my folks and brother came down and helped us paint our house!! We all painted the living room, kitchen, and hallway. Originally we were going to put up trim between the two colors on the wall. Now though, I'm not so sure. It kinda has that appeal to it. Like when you get that paper where the edges weren't cut straight but instead are frayed a little. That's what it kinda looks like. I'd like opinions on this.
Well, on Monday, Jeth and I continued painting. We started on the guest room. I don't have any pictures of the actual day of painting, but let's just say, we both looked like goofballs. Here are some pictures of it. The pictures don't show how much of a difference the walls are. Half of it is still the original white while the other half is a sandy color. We aren't done yet. We're going to paint over the white half a sky blue color. We're really excited. We don't get much of an opportunity to paint though. Jeth works days and I work nights. So it will slowly get done, but it WILL get done.

Zion's National Park
Jeth and I took a trip to Zion's National Park. This was the first time that Jeth had ever been there. We had so much fun, we were able to go on a Friday night and come back on Monday. It was a really nice getaway for us. Most of our vacations consist of driving to visit family, which is great. But sometimes, it's nice to have a vacation where it's just the two of us. We spent lots of time playing Uno. And of course, since we're married, Uno was a slightly dirty game. We went along a lot of the trails. Our favorite was Wheeping Rock.
Slip n' Slides Are NOT Just for Kids
In May, Jeth and I bought a slip n' slide. This slip n' slide has two lanes so you can race. It also came with a thing that you can race on, so you don't get burned. Jed was staying with us at the time. The first day we got out the slip n' slide, we were able to play with it for about 20 minutes before it broke. The maximum weight on it is 100 lbs. . . The next day, we put a hose on it so that it would still get wet. It was so fun. We invited Randi and Taryne over. Taryne didn't want to have anything to do with the water. Here are a few clips of what we did.
In Trouble from a Dream
A very wise aunt once told me when I was about to be married that when I have a dream in which my husband is being a butt, I can't be mad at him in the morning. This seemed very funny at the time. Since, however, I have learned it is actually a difficult thing to do. For instance, last night Jeth was in some serious trouble. We were going to school together and it was right before graduation. He was playing football for school. I was watching him and taking pictures of the game. The game ended and I started packing up my camera equipment. When I looked up, he was flirting with the school slut!! I was pretty outraged. Before I was able to walk up to him, they turned and with arms around each other, they walked back to the school together. When I got back to the school, they were just inside the doors flirting. I told her she had better leave, slightly icy, and not very nicely. Then Jeth got after me for being rude and jealous. That night, after school, I was walking out to the car and he was flirting with her again!! She told him that I was quite the evil person and that he could do so much better. . . with her. Then he agreed that it was too much for me to ask him to desist flirting with such an attractive person. As you can imagine, I was less than happy. I walked over, dragged her by the hair away, and had a "discussion" with her about the behavior required when talking to another person's husband. Then I had the same kind of "discussion" with Jeth. The dream continued on in the same sort of fashion. When I woke up, Jeth was getting dressed for work. He came over, gently stroked my hair out of my eyes, gave me a sweet kiss, and told me he loved me. With much difficulty, I said it back. He asked if anything was wrong and I told him I was trying my darndest to not be mad at him. With concern in his eyes, he asked what he did. I proceeded to tell him about his rompings last night. He laughed - carefully - and told me that it was just a dream and I can't hold that against him. I said that he owed me, and a good sucking up was in order. So he made breakfast. I have such a cute, and patient, husband.

The Impossible Made Possible!!
Growing up, I have been a fan of reading. It's one of my favorite pastimes. You can imagine my shock when Jeth told me that he had only read ONE book his entire life!! I made it a goal to show him how great books can be. When I told this to his family, they laughed and told me good luck. Well, we started on the tried and true Harry Potter. I would read to him in the car while we were driving. He learned to love that. We have since gone through many books together. One particular author stuck out more to him: Terry Brooks. We read the Sword of Shannara together. He decided to read another book by Terry Brooks on his own. For his birthday I got him the next book in the Shannara series: The Elfstones of Shannara. He has diligently plucked away at a book that hits close to 600 pages. Then the night of June 11, 2009 he finished. HE FINISHED!!!! I am so proud of him. He's pretty excited, but it's kind of surreal to him right now. We decided to celebrate. . . so we rented a movie. I have to admit that is slightly ridiculous. But it doesn't change how much he has accomplished. He has now read two books. . . in his entire life. . . Rock on babe!!

About Us
Jeth and I decided to start a family blog. We were married on December 14, 2007 in the Bountiful, Utah temple. We now live in St. George, UT. We have a beautiful house there. We have been trying to get pregnant since January of 2008 and so far, no success. Instead, we have a beautiful female lab/rottweiler mix. Her name is Zeus. We love her dearly.
